Concept Attainment Model is a method I use often in my class. The definition for this is "The Concept Attainment Model is a teacher-guided instructional model through which students develop an understanding of a concept by examining examples and nonexamples and by analyzing their critical and non-critical attributes."
I will say that the descriptions being "pictures, text, video clips, animations, sounds, songs, poems, articles, words, mathematical computations, sentences, etc..." Some of these I find very useful and use them daily. The smartboard has brought a new world to video clips.
Much of 4th grade is teaching big ideas because they have learned how to read and do math...while I teach them how to apply these skills. The big ideas in 4th grade I would say is teaching them how to be good learners.

Jigsaw
My classroom will display the jigsaw model in our Productive Resources Project. Students will be grouped by ability group. In each group there will be a high/medium/low. They will study either corn, wheat, or soybeans. They will then study the land, labor, capital, and entrepreneurship. They will research their productive resource and share with the groups that have a different productive resource then them. They will create a group poster and present to the class.

Why did I become a teacher?
When I was in grade school my mom was very sick. When I was in high school she passed away. My teachers took care of me and I always knew I wanted to be as caring as others had been to me.
What makes me continue being a teacher?
My students convince me everyday I am doing the right thing...
What are my greatest strengths in teaching?
The connection and bond I have with my students would be my strength.
In what areas do I most need to grow?
I need to grow in my reading instruction.
How do I decide how to teach required content?
I have attended several siminiars about teaching through kinesthetic learning.... I try to stick to this approach.
What types of approaches do I use to teach the content I am required to teach?
KINESTHETIC LEARNING!
